Community Health Representative

Neskonlith’s CHR plays a vital role in our Prenatal Nutrition Program to improve the health of mothers and infants by supporting community members to:

  • Promote and educate how pregnant moms can eat well so our babies have the best chance to be healthy at birth and throughout their lives
  • Promote and educate how to properly Breastfeed babies for up to two years and beyond
  • Promote and educate how to introduce healthy solid foods at 6 months of age, while continuing breastfeeding

Traditionally, it is known that what a pregnant mother surrounds herself with will affect their baby. Extensive research tells us that pregnant mothers who eat healthy, nutritious food supports long-term health of both mother and baby, also can help reduce the risk of chronic diseases like diabetes. Should you need the Prenatal Nutrition Program we encourage making an appointment, you may call or email the Community Health Representative to arrange an appointment that fits your schedule.
